Dimmable LED lights, what should you watch?
When it comes to LED lighting, people often wonder if this one is dimmable. The short answer to this question is: yes, LED lighting is definitely dimmable! But there are some things to keep in mind.
Always check if the lamp is dimmable
Not all LED bulbs are dimmable, so it's important to be aware of the light intensity of the lamp. If you buy lighting from a lamp, it is always indicated if the lamp is suitable for LED lighting and if the lighting is dimmable.

Use an LED dimmer
People often think that they can also use their normal dimmer for LED lighting, but in most cases, this is not possible. Existing dimmers often have a minimum power of 50 watts. Because LED lamps have lower power than, for example, halogen lamps, when you only connect LED lights to a dimmer, this minimum power often fails. This may make the dimmer confused and then the lights will flash or overheat.
If you turn off a traditional lamp, such as a halogen lamp, and reduce the power by 50%, the halogen lamp will almost no longer light up. Do the same with an LED lamp, you will see that it will still provide 50% of its power. Therefore, if you use a traditional dimmer to darken an LED lamp, you will almost never be able to vary the brightness of the LED lamp. For this reason, you must also use a special LED dimmer.
